This is a support article to offer some tips to try when you are experiencing connectivity or Bluetooth issues with your Acaia product.
- Start by turning your Acaia product on.
- If you are updating your scale's firmware, make sure you are using the appropriate app for your scale. The Pearl Updater app is used to update the large "Pearl" model scale, and the Acaia Updater is used to update most of our other products, including the Orion and Lunar.
- Make sure your mobile device's operating system is updated to the most recent version.
- Check if the app you are trying to connect to is updated to the most recent version. You can find the version information at the bottom of the settings screen in Acaia Coffee and Brewmaster, and at the bottom of the main screen in the updater apps.
- Make sure no other apps are open in the background. The scale can only maintain one connection to one app at a time. So if it is connected to, say, the Pearl Updater app in the background but you are trying to connect it to Brewmaster, the scale will not connect.
- Turn GPS/Location services on, if available. On some Android phones, Bluetooth connectivity is tied to location services, so turning this on will make it easier to connect.
- Turn your mobile device's Bluetooth on and off.
- Make sure your phone is as close to the scale as possible.
- Check your scale's connection by using a Bluetooth detection application on your phone, such as the one here. When your scale is turned on, it should appear as the original Pearl, Pearl 2021, Pearl Model S, Lunar, or Pyxis in the list of Bluetooth items.
If you are unable to find your scale when it is turned on, your scale's connection may be faulty or turned off. Please send us an email to [email protected]
